I actually find myself feeling anxiety at each situational twist and can not wait to see where it goes next. Well written, fast read, and compelling story line. By Patrick Shiflett on June 1, 2015 Really enjoyed the sequel to the Plebes and watching Casey develop in this installment. The book gives a good insight into life at West Point. I thought the atmosphere was great, a good balance of tension and action watching the cadet deal with whatever was thrown at her. The plot picked up right where we left off in the last book and you really got a sense that Casey matured. I'm looking forward to the last book. 5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book!! By Smiley on May 31, 2015 I really enjoyed reading this second book in the series, "Guardians of Honor." From the first page, I was drawn into this thriller. The main character, Casey, finds herself in many sticky situations, where she must constantly choose between what must be done for the undercover operation and what she believes in, based on her upbringing. And of course, she still has to adhere to the West Point standards, which is not always easy. There are so many twists and turns that I found myself glued to the page. I took it on a bus trip and read it the entire time. Can't wait for the next book. I would highly recommend it. Captivating and Inspirational Read By Regina Thompson on May 31, 2015 John Bandy is an excellent author as he weaves his vast real world experience into the fictional story line. This book series is captivating as you can feel yourself moving through all of the experiences with the main character - the blood, sweat, uncertainty, inner strength and personal growth. Once I started the book I could not put it down and in every free moment found myself returning to the book to see what happened. I genuinely cared about the main character and felt a kindred bond with her. I highly recommend this entire series. Additional note: For any readers with younger people in the house, John Bandy's high quality and eloquent writing style is suitable for any reader. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book! I could not put it down! Mr. Bandy, hurry up with the next one. By Kindle G-man on May 30, 2015 I highly recommend this series. The author did his homework in multiple fronts. The story line at USMA is true to actual situations one would experience at a service academy. The overarching story of intelligence and undercover operations is well done, accurate to the real world, making this read extremely enjoyable. I recommend this series to anyone and am looking forward to the next book. Those of you who attended USMA will reminisce of your time on the Hudson. 5.0 out of 5 stars John E. A must read! 5.0 out of 5 stars Casey's back!! A great sequel By kcblack78 on March 15, 2015 Casey Sullivan returns in a gripping sequel to the original Guardians of Honor in the new book: the Yearlings. In this new sequel Casey must continue to manage the rigors of West Point, only this time with a little more authority and experience under her belt. Meanwhile, Casey must balance her academy life with her role as a U.S. government source dedicated to rooting out domestic terror (hate groups) who threaten to penetrate our nation's service academies. These new tasking bring heightened danger and stronger ethical challenges as Casey bravely proceeds in her mission. Author John Bandy does a terrific job explaining the rich traditions of West Point, and the detailed nature of domestic and international terror groups that make the Guardians of Honor: The Yearlings a very engaging read! 5.0 out of 5 stars Another great read written by a great author By Kindle Customer on December 30, 2014 Another great read written by a great author! 5.0 out of 5 stars Good job, John Bandy!, November 29, 2013
By Mimi (Washington, DC United States) This is my friend's book, and I stand in awe of his work! I can't wait for the sequel this summer! Casey is becoming a true intelligence professional! 5.0 out of 5 stars How do you choose the path to honor?, November 22, 2013 By N. Smith (Washington, DC, United States) What a great book! Leaves me anticipating the next volume. Captivating and thought provoking. This book puts a young lady into an alien world of the US Military Academy and then compounds it by thrusting her into a world where her values are tested. When you live by the honor code, can you lie to serve the greater good? For every intelligence and police officer who has ever struggles with the same questions, and those who wonder how they do it, this is a ground breaking book and a must read. Cudos to J. E. Bandy for not fearing the wrath of false political correctness and presenting the world through the eyes of an American who must choose the path to honor when it is not clearly laid out. 5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting novel about West Point, November 21, 2013 By John Raymond This is a fast paced, exciting story about Casey Sullivan, the daughter of a Texas Ranger, and her first year at West Point. Her experiences are unlike those of any cadet who has preceded her as she is chosen to go undercover to root out a conspiracy at the Academy. She routinely asks herself, "What am I doing here?" as she gets deeper and deeper into the intrigue, but she fights on to do her duty and to do what is honorable. Thankfully, John Bandy will be publishing a sequel. This is a super read. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, November 14, 2013 By Casey Longerbeam Very well written with a hooks you from the beginning story line that is believable enough to keep you coming back for more followed up with accurate history and descriptions of the Academy. The novel focuses on the adventures of the main character, Casey Sullivan, as she navigates her first year at West Point. Casey is a wonderful character who is intelligent, witty, brave and a fierce warrior trained in the principles of Bushido. I finished the book in a matter of hours because the story line was compelling and highly believable. Kudos to author J.E. Bandy for a wonderful novel centering on strong women in the military! 5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended!!, October 16, 2013 By Melissa (FALLS CHURCH, VA, US) Exciting Read!
